Notes from September 2026:

• humans are taught to think of ourselves as individuals

  • The problem with that, aside from being ridiculously wrong, is it limits our numbers- because we see everything as individuals, it's nearly impossible for us to think of things independently as a group.

  •  we say you can't see the forest for the trees, but that's literally what we do. We see every individual tree and we can't see the forest.

  • we go so far as to do this with our thoughts and concepts. How many light years is that planet away? How fast is the fastest car in individual miles per hour? I isolate and compartmentalize my thoughts into annoying work thoughts romantic thoughts, funny thoughtful thoughts but it's still just dipping a spoon into the river. It's still taking a photograph a snapshot in time and just like a river is both a physical thing and perpetually changing, so are we as human entities, both physical and thoughtful everything about us is constantly changing, including which microorganisms exist with us at any given time and which thoughts pervade. 

• thoughts and ideas are self-pollinated children - to create biological life, we need male and female parts, but all the rest in in us ALONE.

• The relationships that keep you ratcheted down during the squalls are the same that hold you tight on sunny days when all you want is to go out and play.

• A Simple question for the students of PRIVATE SCHOOLS - Your guradian is paying $75,000 this year to keep you out of public school. Why is that a better investment than buying 1000 winter coats for people who whill not have one this winter? There will be cold families this winter because of you and your planetarium.

• It's like America is Russia when Chernobyl happened. Everybody is slurping their boss's noodles and nobody is tending the sheep.

• When is it OK to quit? This is a fantastic question to ask someone that you're trying to get to know...it tells you almost everything you need to know about a person.
