Much like the invention of the camera did not obsolete painting, it did obsolete painting as a means of creating an image for strictly representational purposes.
I believe the same can be said of AI replacing the need for humans to think about work or to have institutional knowledge. rather, we will be allowed to use our minds to think whatever thoughts we want because we won't be expending mental energy thinking about these institutional questions.
What's critically important though is that we know how to ask the right questions, and we know how to check the answers for validity, honesty, accuracy, and truth.
I believe the next 6 to 18 months will be a race to learning how to feed these large language models the right content, and to ask the right questions to solve some fundamental problems that we haven't had the mental capacity as humans collectively to solve, although individually all the knowledge is there, we haven't had a unifying mechanism to make all of that data available in one place and to be synthesized in a way that accurate and useful information can be gleaned from it.
There will be people who feed garbage into these models and then swear that the AI says something completely bullshit, so we have to understand that these models are not error proof and infallible. They're only regurgitating the knowledge we feed into them.
